A retro 2D pixel-art side-scrolling action game in the style of Metroid/Contra. Made in 48 hours for Global Game Jam 2023! Theme = ROOTS Note - due to time constraints, there's some bugs and missing content we didn't have time to add. But it's playable and even has an (easy) boss to defeat! Synopsis: An unknown distress signal reaches your spaceship, emanating from deep inside a desolate planet. Standing out amidst the stark landscape, you see an alien bio-mechanical, plantlike structure jutting out from the surface. Something tells you that the signal is coming from the root of that tree. It's time to go in and get in and get to the root of the problem. Controls are very similar to Metroid/Contra (run, jump, shoot). Gamepad is preferred (though you still need a mouse to click on the menus. Sorry about that).
